A great pic with a sad story ... that's why war should always be avoided ... I share your sentiment, but I am married to an ex-soldier and their views are very much different than that of us normal people.

Look for an American film "Paths of Glory" if you haven't seen it.

This to me is the sadist memorial I have seen. Soldiers were executed for cowardice in the face of the enemy. The statue is of a 17 year youth who lied about his age to go to war. These days we now know of battle stress. All the stakes have a name, age and regiment, all soldiers have now been cleared of this crime, bit late for these poor souls...R.I.P.
