Somewhat curious to find out a bit more, I had a shufti at Wikipedia, and found this handy page and world map. I'm not sure what all the gray bits are... lack of data, maybe?

LINK: Legal status of dog tail docking and ear cropping by country

In the U.S. it's allowed, and very common for certain breeds. I believe it is more traditional now...a carry over from hunting breeds that had tails/ears docked to protect 'em from burrs etc. in the field. We've had Cockers and Springers for years, and here, one would be hard pressed to find a breeder that didn't do this, although personally I would leave 'em intact. I really love the look of your dogs Artistic...but to an American eye, they sure look different smile. Just out of curiosity, would a breeder or vet remove the "dew claws"?
